Way of Being Board
These guidelines evolved through our experience of gardening and cooking together at PLOT 22. They support us to work safely and well together and have been shared widely with other garden projects.
In addition to these guidelines we have two simple rules:
To keep us all safe we are a NO ALCOHOL site. This means no alcohol is consumed on site or during group visits elsewhere.
We only cook and share VEGETARIAN food at PLOT 22.
Safeguarding Award
PLOT 22 was awarded the Let’s Protect Bronze Award in December 2011 and received the Partnership Community Safeguarding Award for completing the renewal process in 2015.
Quality Assurance
This award certifies the project has a working framework of policies and procedures to safeguard participating children and vulnerable adults. Let’s Protect is a national Quality Assurance Scheme endorsed by the local safeguarding children’s board and the children’s workforce development team at Brighton & Hove City Council. It is managed locally by the NSPCC ‘safe network’ champions Safety Net, who mentored us through this process.
