The Big Dig

The Big Dig is a national project aimed at linking more people with food growing projects, especially those who may not have volunteered before. PLOT 22 joined other food growing projects opening across the city on the 15th September, to welcome visitors and potential volunteers. Loads of people came. Many got stuck in with the potting up, weeding and digging and we fired up the clay oven for pizza making at lunchtime. I’d like to thank Nancy, Vaska and Nicola for stepping in so brilliantly and helping the day run smoothly—it was an unexpectedly large turnout for our little PLOT!

HARVEST is the organisation co-ordinating the Big Dig here in Brighton & Hove. They have been a fantastic support to PLOT 22 over the last two years. Recently nominated for Best Environment Project, Lottery Award, you can help them win by voting for them here.
