'Willow & Planters Moon' with Yvonne McDermott of Forest Moons – Sunday 4th May 4-7 pm
'Willow & Planters Moon' with Yvonne McDermott of Forest Moons – Sunday 4th May 4-7 pm
A mid-spring morning exploring Willow’s comforting ease with natural flux and flow. The Lady of the Waters, Willow’s flexible stems weave into baskets and plant supports and her resonant wood makes the best harps. Lovely yellow catkins herald Spring, followed by plentiful fluffy seeds that pop up in damp spaces encouraging us to seize opportunities. Willow supports hundreds of invertebrates, second only to Oak. We will examine these qualities and more and make a hands-on keepsake to take home a reminder of Willow’s generous support.
Yvonne will explore how to combine the power of tree wisdom with the cycles of the moon as the waxing half-moon brings light into balance with shadow towards adventurous and fulfilling phases. A drum journey meditation to connect personally with inner wisdom will be part of the workshop and an inspiring selection of books will be available to browse.
A reading list will be available to take home. Includes refreshments and vegetarian nutty blackberry flapjack.
Numbers are limited to 8 so book early to avoid disappointment
The workshop will be held in a mostly outdoor garden environment so wear layers.
Ticket price: £15
Yvonne is a horticulturalist and ecologist who also helps with hosting other sessions at Plot 22 (see Who We Are). She has found living in tune with the moon and tree wisdom invaluable in coping with life’s challenges, especially through and after the menopause, and wishes to share this with others. Plot 22 is a wonderful place to connect via face to face workshops while writing her Forest Moons book.
